What we love hearing about
The best emails we receive are from readers who used our gear recommendations on a real trip and want to tell us how it performed in conditions we hadn't covered. If a piece of gear we recommended failed for you, we want to know. If something we marked as a budget pick punched well above its weight on a long thru-hike, we want to know that too. This kind of reader feedback is how reviews stay accurate after they publish.
Product samples and review requests
Brands and PR teams: we may accept review samples for research purposes; acceptance never guarantees coverage or affects conclusions. Our editorial independence is the entire reason readers trust this site, so we maintain a clear separation between sample receipt and editorial decisions. If a product fails our rubric, we say so even when it was sent free. If you want to send a product for consideration, email us with the spec sheet and we'll let you know whether it fits the categories we cover.
